My name is Noelle and I eat like a six year old abandoned in a convenience store. For years I've subsisted on Diet Coke, candy, packaged foods, and the occasional platter of fried appetizers. People regularly look at my food with a mixture of envy and horror. Hey, there's nothing wrong with Oreos for breakfast, right? Right??
But lately I've been wanting more. Even my old candy favorites have lost their flavor. I continue eating them because they're EASY and it's habit, but I'm not sure I actually enjoy them anymore. And every once in a while I walk into a grocery store, look at a pile of shiny, colorful vegetables and think, "I wish I liked to eat those."
So I've decided to start a journey. One that will take me past the packaged food aisles and into that magical wonderland where ingredients are kept. You know, those foods you actually get to combine in new ways to create a whole range of delicious dishes. I want to discover a world where food is meaningful, where cooking is an art, and where eating is a celebration.
Welcome to my journey.
